Cairo, 25 January 2017 – As the conflict in Mosul intensifies and greater numbers of civilians are caught in the crossfire, WHO and partners have increased trauma care services to ensure that patients requiring medical care for injuries have a greater chance of survival. However, additional funds are needed in order to provide a full scale of health services to the 2.7 million people affected.

Iraq, 27 January 2017 - Community Policing Forum (CPF) was established earlier this week in Al Qayara, Iraq, marking the start of community policing in Ninewa Governorate, in an area newly retaken from ISIL.

(Baghdad, 24 January 2017): 100 days after military operations to retake Mosul started, humanitarian partners are expressing deep concern about the plight of the estimated 750,000 civilians who are currently living in the western sections of the city where fighting is expected to start in coming weeks.
