Baghdad (17 April 2019) – Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Representation in Iraq organized a celebration marking 40 years of FAO’s presence in Iraq. The celebration was held under the theme “Working Together to Achieve Zero Hunger.”

Erbil, 28 February 2017: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Iraq in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture in Iraq with participation of Head of Plant Protection and technical experts from the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Kuwait held the Regional Coordination Meeting and Training of Trainers workshop for surveillance, monitoring, control of Red Palm Weevil (RPW) Rhynchophorus ferrugineus in the three neighboring countries.

New FAO project brings jobs, food to vulnerable Iraqis

22 December 2016, Erbil, Iraq - Some 200,000 people from Mosul and across Iraq will be able to earn an income for the first time since the Islamic State of the Levant (ISIL) took parts of the area in 2014, thanks to a new FAO project that is restoring irrigation to 250 000 hectares of farmland.

Baghdad, Iraq, 16 October 2016 - The Ministry of Agriculture in Iraq, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, celebrated the World Food Day under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Agriculture Eng. Falah Hassan Al-Zaidan and with the participation of the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Iraq, Ms. Lise Grande.
