SRSG Melkert is deeply concerned at the continuation of targeted attacks against specific groups in Iraq, the security forces and government and political figures.  He is  appalled by the hideous attacks against worshipers of various faiths in Iraq during the commemoration of holy occasions while practicing their religious rights and he underlines that respect for the Iraqi diversity is the ultimate strength that will drive the country\'s efforts to establish an irreversible democtatic, pluralist and inclusive society.
